Stephen Bauld is the President and Chief Executive Officer ofPurchasing Consultants International. Stephen has more than 40 years of years of international experience in purchasing in both the public and private sectors. He served as the Vice President of the Ontario General ContractorsAssociation for four years, and until recently was on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada. He has extensive experience in negotiating multi-million dollar contracts, and in dispute resolution. With more than 300 publications in the field (including three books, Municipal Procurement, theHandbook of Municipal Procurement, and Leadership, or the Lack Thereof), he is widely recognized as the leading authority inCanada on public procurement, and he is a frequent presenter at conferences and seminars in Canada and abroad on public procurement issues.

His commitment to a disciplined strategic management approach derives from more than 35 years of diverse international experience. He worked for Dofasco Inc. from 1973 – 1993, and then joined Johnson Machinery Inc. in New York City, as a member of its senior management team. He then moved to government in 2001 as the purchasing manager for the City of Hamilton, and thereafter joined the Ontario General Contractors Association as its vice president in 2006. Due to an overwhelming demand, Steve made the transition to full time professional speaking, which enables him to pursue his passion for engaging audiences in the genre of supply chain management.

Steve is an internationally recognized authority on the qualities of leadership, public procurement, and for the past 20 years, he has been a frequent speaker on these topics.
