Speaker Bio

Randi Bryant is a highly-sought keynote speaker and expert covering such topics as diversity and inclusion, communication, workplace culture, and employee engagement. She is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where she gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and education.

Randi Bryant is hired to speak at events and conferences where she can give expertise on important global business affairs. She is a diversity and inclusion strategist who’s tired of helping corporations simply check the diversity and inclusion box. Instead, she’s focused on spearheading real change. As an author, speaker, and Sista-intendent of Inclusivity she’s cultivating conversations to tackle tough racial, gender, and cultural issues by equipping participants with the right tools and resources to foster real, open dialogue and to create spaces where everyone feels as if they belong.

She knows the power of communication can lead to inclusive environments where people feel comfortable being their complete, open, and authentic selves. Focusing on her mission to get people to open up and join the conversation (while also changing the world).

In her book, “Neversays™,” Randi provides an easy-to-follow guide on 25 phrases you should never, ever say to keep your job and friends. The tenets of this book are based on the beliefs that people are good but uninformed and uncomfortable with difference. This book provides real, practical advice on how to navigate these difficult-to-talk-about topics.

Through her strategic planning, speeches, and one-on-one services Randi equips people with the right tools to engage in honest conversations about race, gender, sexuality, religion, cultural, and diversity issues.

Randi has a wealth of knowledge and experience navigating the tough dialogues that come with discussing diversity and inclusivity topics. She is the founder and president of an award-winning change management company that she led for 17 years. She is also the creator of the trademarked “Fingerprint to Blueprint” curriculum and a former director of training and instruction for two tech start-ups. Additionally, she has helped many government clients and Fortune 500 companies across seven countries and 41 states.

Randi Bryant has always been passionate about communication, diversity and inclusion, as she grew up in a very diverse family and attended schools where she was oftentimes the only minority.

Randi’s professional experience furthered her interest in, and commitment to, cultural understanding and communications. She first worked as a high school teacher in Arlington County, Virginia – a school comprised of the dichotomy of sitting in one of the wealthiest counties in the country, yet comprised of students speaking 37 languages and from at least as many countries of origin. She navigated this environment through a combination of curiosity, openness, multicultural sensitivity and the deployment of a curriculum responsive to this diverse population.

Bryant then started her doctorate studies at the University of Virginia focusing on the way adults best learned and retained information. While there, she started developing training materials for newly developed technologies during the dot com era. The excitement of these opportunities lured her away from completing her Ph.D. to work with emerging businesses on the training and communications about their newly developed technologies. She next transitioned to a high-tech company in Northern Virginia where she quickly rose to become the Director of Training and Development. At this company, and in this industry, she was one of just a few female senior executives, directing a department of over 200 people. She was responsible for designing and implementing the training programs for employees and end users for a host of companies, including Cisco Systems, Unisys and Hilton Hotels.

In 2001, Bryant next founded and still operates a corporate training company which allowed her to travel the country educating companies, executives and employees on topics including anti-discrimination, communication in a diverse work environment, and how to capitalize on a diverse workforce. Her clients included McDonalds, Comcast, Leidos (formerly Science Application International Corporation), Department of Energy, Department of State, Defense Advanced Research Agency, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and AT&T.

Over the past 14 years as president of her company, she has grown it from a small start-up consultancy to an award winning company with a full service staff and an envied roster of Fortune 100 clients. During these years she became even more fascinated with how uninformed people in the United States are about racial, gender and cultural issues – and how scared they are to discuss them.

Randi also writes a popular blog, Beatnik24, that frequently addresses issues of race, diversity and communication. She is also a sought after speaker on diversity issues. She has recently completed her first book titled Neversays, meant to improve communications in diverse work and social environments. Neversays has twice sold out on Amazon and has served as the basis for discussions Randi has led across the United States and internationally.
