Peter Zelinski is a highly-sought keynote speaker and expert covering such topics as technology, manufacturing, supply chain, and innovation. He is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where he gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and education.
Peter Zelinski is hired to speak at events and conferences where he can give expertise on important global business affairs. He is the editor-in-chief of two media brands focused on manufacturing technology. MODERN MACHINE SHOP is the leading publication in North America covering industrial metalworking and CNC machining. ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING MEDIA, which he helped to launch over 10 years ago, consists of a magazine, podcast, conference and multiple video series all devoted to exploring the advance of industrial 3D printing technologies for manufacturing functional parts.
Peter is the co-creator and co-host of an award-winning YouTube series focused on additive manufacturing, THE COOL PARTS SHOW. He is also the co-host and co-creator of two podcasts, AM RADIO (on additive manufacturing) and MADE IN THE USA (exploring major themes in U.S. manufacturing). A writer in his personal time as well, Pete is the author of various non-fiction books. His latest book-length work is an e-book on astronomy, “Ariel: Another View of Our Solar System.”
He is a regular speaker at the Additive Manufacturing Conference, and he is co-creator and co-host of the video series on 3D printing for part production, The Cool Parts Show — a show that has been honored with a national award for Best Use of Video in niche media. He is a podcaster, appearing regularly with Additive Manufacturing Media colleagues in the biweekly podcast, AM Radio.
In 2020, he was co-host of the U.S. Air Force’s week-long event aimed at manufacturing for military readiness and sustainment, the Advanced Manufacturing Olympics. Pete also serves as editor-in-chief of Modern Machine Shop, a sister publication focused on metalworking and CNC machining, and the magazine he has been part of for over 25 years. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
He suggests that “3D printing is the technology at the heart of the manufacturing response to the medical equipment shortage, because 3D printing is the one manufacturing technology that does not need setup or tooling. The needs in this crisis are so urgent, there is no time to retool conventional manufacturing systems. The experience of this is going to impart lessons that will last long after this crisis about the role and promise of additive manufacturing for industry.”
Peter also believes that “In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, we will see a re-evaluation of manufacturing supply chains, and in some cases a rethinking of the very sources and technologies used to produce manufactured components. 3D printing, digital manufacturing, manufacturing automation and local sourcing will all advance or accelerate their advance as a result of this crisis.”
Key topics he can cover in his presentations include:
- Additive Manufacturing vs. Conventional Manufacturing
- Lessons About 3D Printing we are Learning from the Coronavirus Crisis
- Industrial Adoption of Additive Manufacturing
- Changes to Industry and Manufacturing likely to result from the Advance of 3D Printing
