He is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where he gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and education.

Larry Huston is hired to speak at events and conferences where he can give expertise on important global business affairs. He a former vice president of technology at Procter & Gamble, came up with Connect + Develop a marketing strategy. Under Larry’s leadership, P&G started getting 50% of its new ideas from outside the company.

They worked with people and groups from all over the world to carefully look for tried-and-true technologies, formats, and products that they could quickly develop, expand, and launch. During his time at P&G, Larry also put together the CEO’s Innovation Leadership Team and led the company’s move to a transnational innovation model, which slowed down the time it took to launch products around the world by a lot.

His technology and growth consulting company, 4iNNO, is now teaching businesses worldwide how to use his Connect + Develop method. He works with CEOs in developing countries like Latin America and Southeast Asia to make and use Innovation Operating Models.

Since 2007, he has taught “Innovation for Growth: Strategies for Creating Value” to business leaders at the Mack Institute for Innovation Management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Larry has won the Industry Leader Award twice from the Wharton School.

Larry is the chief executive of the well-known company 4iNNO, which stands for “open innovation.” 4iNNO also makes “transformation for its clients worth more than a billion dollars. He came up with a new way for businesses worldwide to come up with new ideas. “Open Innovation” is a term used in most business publications. However, at Procter & Gamble, where Larry started this change, it is called “Connect + Develop.” Larry’s creative approach to innovation has been written about in Harvard Business Review, CNBC, some magazine articles, and best-selling business books like Mavericks at Work and Wikinomics.

Larry is a Wharton Fellow. As a Wharton Fellow, he teaches innovation at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Mack Center for Technological Innovation. Larry is a popular speaker and consultant who helps CEOs find new ways to grow through innovation. He has helped over a hundred businesses in the U.S., Europe, and Asia adopt this new strategy.

The innovation officer with a lot of experience says that one of the biggest mistakes companies make when they try to be innovative is that they don’t look outside of their own business. He says that networking with people outside of your company increases the number of ideas you have by a factor of ten. As proof, he points to his success at Procter & Gamble. Houston says that “connect and develop” means “knowing consumers, knowing the jobs that need to be done, and using the best ideas in the world by combining what we know inside with what others know outside.”

Larry’s performances are full of fast-moving visuals and many relevant examples. He has real multinational R&D experience, and the long-standing branding culture at Procter & Gamble has helped him a lot. This is especially true of his Q&A sections. He says that he has been there and done that. Larry is ranked high as one of, if not the best, speaker at conferences with more than one speaker.

Larry’s talk is up-to-date, relevant, and full of new information. He gave keynote speeches at the American Marketing Association, the World Profitability Forum in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Fortune CEO event (where he won first place), and the CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) Executive Exchange.
