She is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where she gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and schools.

She is an experienced senior executive with general management experience and world-renowned knowledge and experience in creating, implementing, and managing complex business alliances in various industries, such as healthcare, technology, consumer products, manufacturing, aerospace, and more. Its partners and directors have written many books, including “Getting to Yes” and “Difficult Conversations.” Segil has helped companies in the Global 100, and Fortune 500 set up and manage important business relationships with suppliers, alliances, joint ventures, and channel partners. She now works as a consultant for senior executives and companies worldwide.

Ms. Segil works as a senior research fellow at the University of Texas at Austin’s IC2 Institute. She is also on the Advisory Board of Edgecast, a privately held Web 2.0 Content Delivery Network company, and the Entrepreneurs Board at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She was on the board of The Los Angeles Regional Technology Alliances (LARTA) for 16 years. LARA was made up of 35,000 early-stage technology companies in Southern California. The Financial Times Knowledge Dialogue Group and The Corporate Strategy Board have called her a thought leader in alliances. Ms. Segil is also on the boards of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and The Committee of 200, a non-profit group for women CEOs that works around the world. Since 1993, she has taught executive education at The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California. There, she taught a two-day course called “Global Alliances.” In January 2009, she was sent to Geneva, Switzerland, to be part of the UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/World Health Organization (WHO) Special Advisory Group on Alliances (SAAG) for Tropical Diseases.

Ms. Segil was born in South Africa. In 1974, she moved to the U.S. She used to be the CEO of a company that sold high-tech materials to the aerospace and electronics industries around the world. She used to work as an international corporate lawyer, and she also helped start a California Thrift and Loan organization and a chain of free-standing medical clinics. Before she joined Vantage Partners, Ms. Segil helped start The Laird Group. In 2003, Vantage Partners bought The Laird Group. The Laird Group is an international consulting firm that helps businesses in the United States and other countries work together successfully.

Ms. Segil is a regular analyst on CNN and CNBC, and she also gives keynote speeches about domestic and international alliances, mergers, and essential customer-supplier, channel, and outsourcing partnerships. Ms. Segil has written many books, such as Intelligent Business Alliances, Fast Alliances.com: Power Your EBusiness, Dynamic Leader, Adaptive Organization: Ten Essential Traits for Managers, and Partnering – The New Face of Leadership.
