He is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where he gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and schools.

Joey Coleman is hired to speak at events and conferences where he can give expertise on important global business affairs. Since the early 1990s, Joey’s keynotes, workshops, and consulting projects have helped companies keep their best clients and turn them into raving fans.

His First 100 Days® method helps successful customer experience projects at businesses and organizations worldwide, from small start-ups backed by venture capitalists to huge Fortune 500 companies, with hundreds of midsize firms in between.

In his best-selling Wall Street Journal book Never Lose a Customer Again, Joey talks about ways to turn one-time buyers into customers for life.

Through his global presentations, Joey has a long history of inspiring and encouraging people worldwide to improve their customers’ experiences. As the main speaker at national and international conferences, he has gone up against N.Y. Times Bestselling authors and internet stars.

He has also taught at both the college level and the graduate level. Recent appearances include talks for the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Whirlpool, BASF, Google, Deloitte, Zappos, Georgetown University School of Business, Stanford University, and Social Media Marketing World, as well as hundreds of national, regional, and local audiences around the world.

Before starting Design Symphony, Joey worked as a criminal defense attorney for clients all over the country from his law firm in Iowa. This helped him get better at telling stories. Before he became a lawyer, he worked as Associate Director of Member Services at The Corporate Executive Board with senior vice presidents of sales and chief information officers from companies like Phillips Electronics N.A., Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida, Tampa Electric Co. (TECO), and Michelin N.A. (now a subsidiary of Gartner).

During the Clinton administration, he improved his message and communication skills by working in the “Pending Issues” division of the White House Office of Counsel to the President. He has also worked for the United States Secret Service and the Central Intelligence Agency.

Joey went to the University of Notre Dame and got a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations. He then went to The George Washington University Law School and got a Juris Doctor. He has been a board member for many privately owned businesses and organizations that don’t make money. He sang the first tenor for almost a decade with the Washington Men’s Camerata, which was nominated for a GRAMMY.

When Joey isn’t traveling the world for keynote speeches, client workshops, and beach time, he likes to watch beautiful sunsets with his wife and two young sons from the top of their mountain home in Colorado.
