Eric Eversole is a well-respected and highly-sought military keynote speaker focusing on veterans rights. He serves as the president of the Hiring Our Heroes initiative, which is a component of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundations. Eversole is also a vice president at the United States Chamber of Commerce.
Eversole is the captain of the grassroots project known as Hiring Our Heroes, which aims to assist veterans, service members in transition, and military spouses in locating meaningful work in communities all around the United States. Eversole strategically commits the program’s public and private-sector partners to connect businesses to the talented women and men transitioning out of the military. This connects businesses to the gifted men and women transitioning out of the military. Additionally, he is a senior adviser at the Foundation of the United States Chamber of Commerce.
Eversole has demonstrated a deep dedication to the armed forces and the women and men who serve in it for close to twenty years now. In 1994, he made his debut in the military by joining the Indiana Air National Guard as a member of the enlisted security specialist corps. Later on, Eversole became a member of the United States Navy JAG Corps, where he accepted a commission in 1998 and remained on active service until 2001. As an attorney specializing in appeals, he appeared on behalf of over 250 service members, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals.
In the year 2001, Eversole made the transition to the Navy Reserve. He currently has the rank of commander in the Navy Reserve unit assigned, which supports the Navy Personnel Command. He is extensively acknowledged as a leading authority in military justice.
Eversole worked as a litigation attorney in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice while practicing law as a civilian attorney. He conducted investigations and argued cases in court to defend the voting rights of military personnel following the Uniform and Overseas Citizen Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). After that, he worked as a special counsel for a presidential campaign and advised on various election-related matters at the federal and state levels.
Eversole is the founder of the Military Voter Protection Project (also known as the MVP Project), which is an organization that works to promote and preserve the voting rights of actively serving military members and their spouses. In addition to this, he worked as an adjunct professor at the AMVETS Legal Clinic at Chapman University. This clinic offers veterans and active duty service members free legal representation and support.
Eversole received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees with the highest honors from Wabash College and Indiana University School of Law. He serves as the vice-chairman of the Advisory Committee on Veterans’ Employment, Training, and Employer Outreach for the United States Department of Labor (ACVETEO). In addition to that, he is a member of the Overseas Vote Foundation’s advisory board. Eversole is originally from Bluffton, Indiana.
