For Deborah, starting Alley to the Valley was a way to connect female entrepreneurs, investors, executives, and government officials in the San Francisco Bay Area. Alley to the Valley is referred to as a “summer camp for brilliant women” by several of the country’s most prominent women. Deborah relocated from the East Coast to Silicon Valley because she recognized a need to link women throughout the country and arrange business partnerships. For this reason, she educates successful female entrepreneurs who use the Alley-to-Valley method to take action on what they want while also bringing their offerings to the table.
Alley to the Valley is the most productive time spent away from the workplace because of its small size (50 women each summit) and online network. In addition to venture capitalists like Barbara Corcoran (co-host and investor on NBC’s Shark Tank) and Heidi Roizen and Nanon de Gaspe Beaubien-Mattrick, corporate leaders like Sheryl Sandberg and Robin Pringle (both of Liberty Media), the event also included US Treasurer Rosie Rios.
