David Goggins is a highly-sought keynote speaker and expert covering such topics as motivation, adversity, leadership, resilience, and inspiration. He is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where he gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and education.
David Goggins is hired to speak at events and conferences where he can give expertise on important global business affairs. He is a former Navy SEAL and the only person in the US armed forces to have completed SEAL training (which includes two Hell weeks), US Army Ranger School (as Enlisted Honor Man) and Air Force Tacitcal Air Controller training.
His “no-nonsense; suck it up” attitude has made him a popular speaker at colleges and businesses, and he’s often asked to talk to top sports teams like the Seattle Seahawks. His audience gets a lesson in personal responsibility from him. He believes that today’s culture of coddling, entitlement, and blaming is not okay. He’s old-fashioned, and that’s what makes him one of a kind.
An exceptional strength and stamina athlete, Goggins has finished more than 60 ultra-marathons, triathlons, and ultra-triathlons. He frequently places in the top five and even set new course records. At one point, he held the Guinness World Record for pull-ups. In 17 hours, he did 4,030! When he’s not running or swimming or biking incredibly long distances, he enjoys being a motivational public speaker.
In less than four years, David has raced in more than 30 endurance events, making a name for himself as one of the top athletes in the world. In 2007, he set a new record by running 203.5 miles in the 48-Hour National Championship endurance foot race – 20 miles more than the previous record holder. His impressive accomplishments earned him a spot in Runner’s World magazine as their “Running Hero,” and he was even asked to be the face of the Navy’s recruitment campaign.
David’s military accomplishments are truly impressive. He is the only person in the U.S. armed forces to have completed SEAL training (including two Hell Week), Army ranger school (as the honor man) and Air force Tactical air controllerer training. David has seen action in Iraq, and even served as a bodyguard for the former prime minister of Iraq, Ibraheem Al-Jaafari. And these are only the missions he can talk about! This modern day G.i Joe has been involved in some of Americas most classified military operations that have the potential to change global politics and effect foreign policies.
In order to help the children of fallen soldiers, David Goggins started training for long-distance running. His goal was to raise enough money to open a foundation that would give scholarships and grant to these kids. He named it the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. After competing in various endurance races, he managed to raise over $2 million dollars. Some of the competitions he took part in include the Badwater Ultramarathon which he ran 3 times.
All of the achievements, accomplishments and honors are irrelevant to David. That’s not why he does what he does. Even though David has run many races and fundraised a great deal of money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, none of this is important to him. He’s not striving to be the best in the world. He’s not focused on how many races he’s run or the distance he’s covered.
