Her third-place finish at the Roxy Pro in Australia is a personal best. Meetings with the Hollywood film producers for Soul Surfer, the film, are the first step in the process. Friends of Bethany is the name of her non-profit organization.

In 2017, she was elected into the Surfer’s Hall of Fame, which is a prestigious honor.
