Michelle Lee is a highly-sought keynote speaker and expert covering such topics as artificial intelligence, technology, future trends, innovation, and disruption. She is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where she gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and education.
Michelle Lee is hired to speak at events and conferences where she can give expertise on important global business affairs. She has been at the forefront of the most recent technological developments, which are having a profound impact on our businesses and contributing significantly to the expansion of the global economy. She was the first woman to lead the Patent and Trademark Office of the United States of America (USPTO). In addition to her role as an executive at Google, she worked as a computer scientist at the Artificial Intelligence Lab at MIT and the Research Lab at HP.
She was a small child when the massive wave of Silicon Valley firms began altering the world around her and led her to construct her portable radio. The companies came from Silicon Valley. Due to her passion for technology, she received both her bachelor’s & master’s degrees in computer science and electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). After that, she earned a law degree from the School of Law at Stanford University to focus on the most cutting-edge regulatory and legal concerns that influence high-tech enterprises.
Lee has an impressive career that includes roles in various productions. She attended MIT and earned a degree in computer science there. Her research focuses on computer-generated intelligence (AI). She has a background in law and was a partner at Fenwick & West in the past. She is the head of patents & patent strategy at Google, in addition to serving as the company’s deputy general counsel. She is also the co-founder of the Chief IP Counsels (ChIPs) and the first woman to hold the offices of Under Secretary of Commerce and Director of the USPTO in the more than 200-year history of the agency. Her other accomplishments include founding the Chief IP Counsels (ChIPs).
She became the Director of the USPTO’s Silicon Valley satellite office because she wanted to create a place where innovators and inventors could do well. In 2015, the US Senate gave her permission to be the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and to run the USPTO, which has 10,000 employees. During her time in office, she was in charge of an agency with 13,000 employees and an annual budget of $3.4 billion. She brought the 225-year-old organization up to date, streamlined the assessment processes, & made sure that American businesses and entrepreneurs got the most money out of it.
After serving as the head of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where she witnessed inventions from all over the world, Michelle Lee is an excellent public speaker who brings with her unique insights gained from her time in the “trenches of innovation” at the MIT AI & HP Research Labs, at Google as it grew from a small company to a global powerhouse, and as the head of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She discusses not just the most recent and cutting-edge technology in her lectures but also the commercial opportunities and regulations that will be significant for our future. Because no one else possesses her one-of-a-kind knowledge as a scientist, businesswoman, lawyer, and government official at the highest levels, her presentation is the only one that can provide business executives with a more comprehensive picture than any other.
