Speaker Bio

Frederick Reichheld is a prolific business keynote speaker who has focused a great deal of his energy on inspiring companies to make customer loyalty an integral part of their business.

He is a business strategist, teacher, and author best known for his work on the loyalty business model and loyalty marketing. He developed the Net Promoter System for running a business (NPS).

Fred Reichheld made Bain & Company’s Loyalty Practice, which helps customers strengthen the loyalty of their employees, investors, and customers to get better results. His groundbreaking research on investor, stockholder, and consumer loyalty showed how value, loyalty, and profits are linked.

Mr. Reichheld started working at Bain in 1977, and in 1982, he was asked to become a partner. He started the Loyalty Practice and was in charge of it. He also worked for the firm in other ways, such as being on its Worldwide Management, Nominating, and Compensation Committees. In January 1999, the company chose him to be the first Bain Fellow, a job that lets him do nothing but research and write.

Mr. Reichheld often speaks at important business activities and international meetings of CEOs and top executives. Many articles about his work were published in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Fortune, Business Week, and The Economist. His first book, The Loyalty Effect: The Hidden Force Behind Growth, Profits, and Lasting Value, was published by Harvard Business School Press in 1996 and praised worldwide. In September 2001, Harvard Business Press released his most recent book, Loyalty Rules! : How Today’s Leaders Build Lasting Relationships.

Fred’s work on loyalty has been written about in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial Times, Fortune, Businessweek, and The Economist. He often speaks at important business events. He has written eight studies for the Harvard Business Review about what makes people loyal. In 2003, Consulting magazine named Fred one of the top 25 most important consultants. The New York Times says he “made economic loyalty growth well-known.”

Fred Reichheld got high marks at both Harvard Business School and Harvard College, where he graduated (B.A., 1974). (M.B.A., 1978).

Fred Reichheld’s most recent book says businesses do well when they put their customers’ lives in the circle of everything they do.

Fred says that a company’s success comes from having a clear mission. It’s not enough, though. If a business wants to do well, its main goal should always be to make people’s lives better. And the key to winning on reason is to have a strong, well-defined feeling of purpose focused on giving customers what they want.
