Speaker Bio

Chris Domas is a highly-sought keynote speaker and expert covering such topics as cybersecurity, technology, and science. He is a best-selling author, consultant, media pundit, and thought-leader who has spoken at many conferences around the world where he gives leaders the skills they need to deal with fast, big changes in society, the workplace, and education.

Chris Domas is hired to speak at events and conferences where he can give expertise on important global business affairs. He is the team leader for the Core Client and BIOS/UEFI offensive security research teams. In addition, reverse engineering, processor exploitation, and automated firmware analysis to some of his areas of expertise.

The world’s first single instruction C compiler (M/o/Vfuscator), unconventional counter-reverse engineering approaches (REpsych), the branchless side-channel resistant DOOM port, and Turing machines in the vi text editor are just a few of his most well-known accomplishments outside of the computer industry.

A few of his more notable contributions include the SandSIFTER Processor Fuzzer, the Rosenbridge Hardware Backdoor, the binary visualization tool cantor.dust and the Memory SinkHole privilege-escalation exploit for the x86 architecture.

Previously, Domas worked as a cybersecurity researcher at the Battelle Memorial Institute for Science and Technology from 2009 to 2018. As an embedded systems reverse engineer (RE), he specializes in finding ways to control electronic devices through vulnerability analysis and vulnerability identification. His group applies this to national security by developing cyber technology that protects individuals on the world’s newest battleground in the global war against terrorism.

Domas received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, where he made it a point to enroll in every course the school offered. He has a whirlwind of interests and majors in electrical engineering and physics and mathematics and mechanical engineering and biology and chemistry and statistics and biomedical engineering. He was forced to graduate when he ran out of money and couldn’t continue.

After settling on a degree in computer science with an inconsequential handful of minors, he accepted a position as a cybersecurity researcher at Battelle Memorial Institute. As of right now, he is attempting to bring concepts from these various domains together to tackle the world’s most difficult cyber challenges in a novel and surprising fashion. His efforts led to his receiving Battelle’s prestigious 2013 Emerging Scientist and Technical Achievement awards, as well as the 2013 Technical Achievement award.

For the past four years, Domas has served as an adjunct professor at Ohio State University, and he has presented his research at a variety of cybersecurity conferences across the United States, including Black Hat, REcon, and DerbyCon.
