Speaker Bio

For the first time in the history of INDYCAR, a team is led by a woman, with Beth Paretta as its founder, owner, and principal. By 2020, Paretta Autosport had achieved 6.5 billion total media exposure for the team thanks to Beth’s vision and perseverance in launching the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” the Indianapolis 500. It is the goal of Paretta Autosport to unite the current generation while also igniting the imagination of the next.

Because of the high percentage of female team members (75 percent), Paretta Autosport serves as a shining example of the benefits of gender equality and inclusion. Aiming to diversify the STEM workforce, it promotes girls and young women to pursue careers in STEM fields such as engineering and mathematics. Beth and Paretta Autosport use sport as a lens for action to benefit society, defying convention and being fueled by something higher.

Beth Paretta had a lifelong passion for motor vehicles. Her father and older brother, Michael, used to spend a lot of time in their garage restoring an old truck when she was a kid. Family life was turned upside down when Michael, their only sibling, was stricken with leukemia at the age of 12 and died 5 years later. As a way to keep in touch with his father, Paretta explains, she started driving. It is a normal coping method for surviving siblings.

IndyCar hadn’t been created yet, so watching NASCAR and Formula One on TV became an escape for her. She describes being “mesmerized” by the sport. “Something is calming about watching cars race around the track, especially for a young girl who is going through a terrible time at home. Even though it’s strange to be around something so fast and loud, racing was always her happy place. Even today, a certain amount of that persists.”

Beth Paretta is a role model for women in the automotive and motorsports industries because she is the first female director of a performance brand and motorsports for a car manufacturer (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). Starting with the NTT IndyCar series and the Indianapolis 500, she founded Paretta Autosport in 2021 to promote diversity initiatives in professional racing. For her work with Grace Autosport, Paretta was designated one of AutoWeek magazine’s “Secret People” who would transform the automotive industry; and Sports Business Journal dubbed her a “Game Changer” for her contributions to the automotive industry. There she serves as a director of Daytona International Speedway’s Motorsports Hall of Fame.

As an automobile and motorsports executive, Beth had a long background before creating Paretta Autosports. She worked in the operations, marketing, and finance departments of Aston Martin and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). For the first time in the history of motorsports, Beth was in charge of both a performance brand and an OEM. FCA won three (3) national championships, including the NASCAR Cup Series championship when she was in charge of the company.

Beth has been recognized as one of AutoWeek magazine’s “Secret People” and as a “Game Changer” by Sports Business Journal for her work on the board of the Motorsport Hall of Fame of America. There’s no doubt in my mind that Beth is one of the most accomplished businesspeople I’ve ever worked with.

The Connecticut native’s IndyCar endeavor is in line with her long history of success in male-dominated sectors. Originally, she worked in New England ski shop as a teenager, reading trade magazines cover to cover on her way home from school. Her first job out of college was at a ski resort in Burlington, Vermont, where she worked for several different ski firms while also pursuing an MBA at the University of Vermont.
