For more than four decades, Barry Moline has worked to bring people together in the workplace. He refers to it as “Teamwork Development.” Barry understands the significance of synergy and diplomacy, as well as the ramifications of its lack.
Currently, Barry Moline serves as the Executive Director of the California Municipal Utility Associations, where he has worked for the past decade. He has been in the position since January 2017. He is the representative of California’s municipal electric and water utilities.
As a means of connecting with others, sharing the individual stories has tremendous value. For more than three decades, Barry has worked to improve communication and collaboration among people, whether as a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in Guatemala or as a leader of associations, businesses, and government agencies, among other organizations. He has done so by teaching his staff and colleagues how to relate to one another. His achievements have earned him a slew of accolades.
Given his extensive depth and breadth of experience in the media, Barry is in a unique situation to provide insight and comments on themes ranging from inter-office politics to actual politics – and everything in between – and everything in between
Beginning in the early 1980s, Mr. Moline has been employed in the energy industry. He was the representative from 1996 to 2016. He was employed in Washington, D.C.as for American Public Power Association, which is the national trade association for municipal electric utilities
Utilities that provide electricity he has worked with the United States Department of Energy on natural gas and oil studies. The Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Fuels explored renewable power efficiency for the United States and served in the United States Peace Corps in Guatemala, where he worked to conserve firewood and other natural resources. With more than 25 years of experience as a CEO, Barry has gained a great deal of knowledge about leadership and management. He is the executive director of the California Municipal Companies Association, where he and his staff collaborate with publicly held water agencies and electric utilities to ensure that 40 million Californians have access to clean water and electricity.
Barry is constantly on the hunt for fresh ideas, and he just published a book in which he divulged the secrets of how to make teams work better together and cooperate more swiftly. During his spare time, he enjoys playing hockey, which helps him to stay in shape and youthful while also being a little pushy.
Mr. Moline earned a Bachelor’s degree in Vocational and Technical Education from the University of Illinois, Technical Education (1979), and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Policy and Engineering are two different things (1985).
