An artificial intelligence (AI) solution company based in California, Addo, is led by Dr. Ayesha Khanna, a co-founder, and CEO. She has advised major firms and governments on AI technology, smart cities, and fintech.
Dr. Khanna is on the board of Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), a government organization responsible for the development, regulation, and promotion of the country’s world-class technology sector. In addition, Khanna is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Councils, a group of international professionals who provide thought leadership on the effect and governing of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, as well.
As one of Asia’s top four artificial intelligence firms in 2017, ADDO AI was profiled by Forbes magazine as one of South East Asia’s pioneering female entrepreneurs in 2018, and Khanna was one of those pioneering female entrepreneurs. For example, she has worked with SMRT, one of Singapore’s largest public transportation companies; Mercy, one of the United States’ biggest health care networks; Singtel, Singapore’s largest telecommunications company; SOMPO, Japan’s largest insurance company, Habib Bank of Pakistan; and Smart Dubai, the govt agency in charge of turning Dubai into a world leader in smart city development.
Khanna serves as a consultant to several smart city initiatives and digital firms. On the board of directors of AVEVA Group, a British multinational technology company that is a global leader in industrial software, Khanna serves. AVEVA is a component of the FTSE 100 Index and is traded on the London Stock Exchange. On top of that, she is a member of the board of NEOM Tech and Digital Holding Company, which is in charge of creating and implementing the city’s $500 billion smart city technology infrastructure, including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, blockchain, and virtual reality (VR).
She was a member of the Singapore Ministry of Education’s steering committee that resulted in SkillsFuture, a national program that connects education with economic need, career counseling, and lifelong learning to prepare residents for the fourth industrial revolution in 2014. At Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore, she serves as a Member of the Directors, which oversees the institution’s 44 full-time programs and about 15,000 students.
21C GIRLS, which provides free code and artificial intelligence education to Singaporean girls, is also the brainchild of Khanna. In addition to Google-sponsored Code in the Community, which teaches 8-14-year-olds how to code, Empower, a partnership between Ngee Ann Polytechnic and the Ngee Ann Polytechnic, teaches 18-24-year-olds the basics of artificial intelligence. Khanna spent over a decade on Wall Street working on large-scale trading, risk management, and data analytics systems before establishing ADDO AI in 2012. Directly through processing (2008) and Hybrid Reality: Thriving within the Emerging Human-Technology Civilization (2008) are Khanna’s most notable works (2012). A frequent contributor to the media, she has been featured in numerous publications and has been interviewed on a variety of technology-related topics, including smart cities, innovation, and The New York Times. To name just a few of her accomplishments, she has spoken at TEDx events as well as major financial and technology conferences. She has also briefed government officials at the highest levels and served as chair of conferences like AI Asia.
Khanna is a graduate of Harvard University, Columbia University, and London School of Economics where her Ph.D. is focused on online innovation in smart cities.
