Speaker Bio

After graduation from Cornell University, Anne Loehr spent the next 13 years managing and owning international eco-friendly hotels and safari firms. Anne was dissatisfied with the lack of high-quality team development programs available for her 500 Kenyan employees, so she decided to build these abilities herself by developing her dynamic leadership development programs.

Anne Loehr is at her best when she is at the confluence of leadership, interpersonal interactions, and professional connections. As she teaches clients how to exploit the diversity in the workplace, her books, online learning programs, keynotes, and workshops effortlessly mix insights from Leadership Development and Organisation Development disciplines.

Throughout her professional life, Anne has found herself at a crossroads, where she has learned and grown. She received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Management and immediately relocated to Kenya. Africa altered her vision, tested her resolve, and demonstrated personally the transformative potential of true leadership in her life.

Leaving her native country of the United States to turn around for a Kenyan hotel, Anne also gained valuable experience in crisis management, having dealt with lions, tsunamis, floods that washed away camp generators, as well as lots of individual and community turmoil. Five hundred people from many tribes did not simply band together and achieve success on their own; instead, Anne’s leadership revolutionized their jobs and lives, just as earning their respect and trust changed her. Because she couldn’t find high-quality leadership, coaching, and teamwork facilitators for her employees at the time, she educated herself and put her newfound knowledge to good use in the workplace.

When she sold her businesses and relocated to the United States, she took with her a love for leadership skills and executive coaching, which she uses to help executives communicate more effectively and build stronger working connections with their teams. Since authenticity is defined by courage and respect, Anne’s research has demonstrated that transformational leadership may result in better staff retention, greater sales, and a more stable bottom line.

The workplace of today screams out for innovative approaches to leadership, as change continues at a breakneck speed and technological advancements keep the pedal to the metal. Leaders and managers now have to deal with four generations in the workplace, as well as a smorgasbord of other cultural variations, which can be challenging. The Washington Post dubbed Anne the “Generational Guru” in recognition of her unique insights for utilising the best of each generation and providing her clients with a competitive advantage in their businesses.

Anne’s work has been mentioned and/or featured in numerous international publications, including Newsweek International, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, The New York Times, National Geographic Traveller, Elle (Canada), Outside Magazine, CNN Money, The Sunday Times (UK), The Guardian (UK), and others. She contributes leadership pieces to publications such as Fast Company, Huffington Post, and the Washington Business Journal, among others. She currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the Centre for Human Capital Innovation (CHCI).

Anne is an inventor, visionary, and transformational leader who has owned and led successful enterprises in the United States and internationally throughout her more than two decades in the business world. She will provide your audience with the benefit of her knowledge, experience, and down-to-earth approach to leadership as she delivers a fantastic keynote speech. A thought leader in the domains of leadership and management development, Anne has been dubbed the “Generational Guru” by the Washington Post for her work on harnessing diversity in the workplace. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.

Invite up to 1000 of your colleagues to hear Anne speak for 45–55 minutes on a topic of your choosing. Relax and take pleasure as she educates and entertains you with an engaging and stimulating presentation. If her discussion is part of a bigger event, she is willing to sign books afterward and will offer advice on how to organise the talk’s sequence effectively.
